First: I called Green Valley Cabinets to come look at my kitchen. As many might remember, I only had half a kitchen when it came to cabinets. The owner said he could match my cabinet rearrange everything and no one would be able to tell the old from the new. He was correct.
It looks like a kitchen now with lots of room, just in case I want to cook something. Greg put a concrete counter top on and a new deep sink. I painted the walls and celling. Greg hooked up the new lights. Joanne & Gary laid the new floor tile. ( they had a great teacher in their son Troy.) I purchased a new stove and dishwasher, which they hooked up. It sounds like it was fast, but it took a month just for my new cabinets and the install. It was great having Joanne next door, with no water or appliances hooked up, they shared with me.
Second: The bathroom was fun. Rhett came down for a few days. (He stayed next door with Joanne & Gary, where he could have a bed and shower.) The four of us moved everything in the house out into the garage. It was stacked celling to floor. Then Rhett, Gary and Joanne tore the bathroom apart. I had no use of that room for a week. First I painted, then they tiled the floor. It takes a lot of cutting, measuring and setting up for a bathroom. (I think it took longer to put in this floor than the kitchen floor.) I now have a totally functioning vanity and toilet.
Third: Gary, Joanne & I tore all the carpet out of the house. I could not believe how much red dirt was under the carpet. After we cleaned all the floors we painted all the walls, ceilings and closets. Two days later the carpet was laid. We spent the next few days packing in all the beds, furniture and sofas. How I have a very nice clean and pretty house. My next projects will be to finish painting the sewing room and the garage floor. I really feels nice to have everything done.
Fourth: I now have a spare bedroom or Rhett has a bedroom and a junky computer room.
It feels nice and clean. But I don' want to take that much on again for a while.
